This year, we are hosting an event in support of this year’s CANNT Festival (http://www.cannt.org/). In its second year, Skinny Cubs Week is the creative industry’s alternative to the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. The week aims to bring together young creatives with Creative Directors from agencies in and around London, and who haven’t been able to (or wanted to) attend the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. Some top Agencies are involved such as Skive, LBi and Dare.
Following a similar format to last year, a 48-hour brief for creative individuals or creative teams to answer will be issued. The brief can be picked up online on Monday 18th June (URL) when there will be a launch event, hosted at Siegfried von Underbelly at Hoxton Square. Anyone wishing to enter will have until Wednesday 20th to make submissions and judge will take place ahead of Friday 22nd when the main event, being sponsored by Purple, will take place (venue TBC) and the winner will be announced.
The CANNT judging panel will include some of the advertising industries best known creative directors including those from the event’s main agencies (Skive, LBi and Dare) and other industry luminaries, such as Rory Sutherland will also attend the event.
Purple, which has two senior consultants also sitting on the judging panel, has secured the three prizes from Academy Class, the industry training specialist. First prize is £1,000 worth of training and there are two runner up prizes of £500, also for training (more info???).
Toby Thwaites, Director of Purple, said: “We are always keen to support initiatives that encourage and reward new creative talent in the industry and we’re very proud to be closely involved in this year’s CANNT event.”
