Mid-weight PHP Developer - Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Zend, JavaScript - Award Winning Marketing Agency

I have a great opportunity for a seasoned PHP developer to join an award winning marketing agency in west London. You will be joining a 5 man web development team supporting the lead PHP developer. As an experienced PHP developer you will have a firm grounding in building PHP websites, using PHP based frameworks such as Zend and be familiar with Object Orientated concepts. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of websites and applications for the agencies roster of high profile, high traffic sites within a creative agency environment that put technology at the heart of the ideas generation process. Alongside an excellent grounding in object orientated php and experience using MVC design patterns it is essential that you have strong communications skills and a passion to make your mark on a project.

Essential:

-PHP 5 with a good understanding of Object Orientated concepts.

-Experience using PHP Zend frameworks. Expression Engine, Kohana or similar.

-Understand Design Patterns and why a developer uses them. Most importantly the MVC pattern.

-MySQL 5 (You will know the difference between an INNER JOIN and a RIGHT JOIN). The occasional requirement to use MS SQL servers. You understand how to structure a database appropriately for a project. -Also understands hashing and salting concepts for passwords.

-Version control using SVN and Git or Mercurial.

Trac or Bugzilla for bug tracking

-Understands the basics of a server configuration for example setting up a LAMP stack.

-Some form of CMS platform experience such as Silverstripe/Wordpress.

-Backend development is your strong point but you can also dabble in front end and be familiar with Javascript frameworks such as JQuery or Mootools.

-You will understand the important of writing secure scripts and protecting against SQL injection or XSS scripting attacks.
